The New Westminster Police Department is asking drivers and pedestrians to take extra care after officers responded to three separate pedestrian collisions between November 22 and November 24.
The first incident happened on November 22 in the 500 block of 6th Street, where a man reported being struck by a vehicle. Emergency crews attended and confirmed his injuries were minor. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
About an hour later, officers downtown heard the sound of a collision on 8th Street and found that a pedestrian had been struck by a driver who did not remain at the scene. Officers provided aid and located the driver shortly afterward on Carnarvon Street.

The third collision occurred on November 24 in the Sapperton neighbourhood, where a pedestrian was hit while using a marked crosswalk. The driver stayed on scene, and investigators have since seized the vehicle.
“With reduced visibility at this time of year, the risk increases for everyone on the road,” Sergeant Andrew Leaver said. “We’re asking people to slow down, stay focused, and look out for each other.”
