Resonate Church will host its third annual Christmas Wishlist Event in Coquitlam this Saturday, offering a free shopping-mall-style gift experience for families in need, according to information provided by the church.
The event will be held December 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Centennial Secondary at 570 Poirier Street. The church reports that roughly 150 families and about 300 children between the ages of one and 18 have registered to attend.
According to Resonate Church, parents will be able to select gifts for their children at a no-cost “shopping mall” set up inside the school. Volunteers will assist families in choosing items and wrapping them onsite. Each household will also receive a family gift and a grocery card.
The church said the event is supported entirely by volunteers and is intended to foster community connection during the Christmas season. Organizers added that they hope the initiative will grow into a local holiday tradition and believe it may become one of the largest events of its kind in the neighbourhood.
Resonate Church describes its mission as helping people “know God, find freedom, discover purpose and make a difference.” The church holds weekly Sunday services at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. at Centennial Secondary and plans to host Christmas Eve services at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
