Celebrate the reopening of the newly upgraded Mundy Pool

Families will be able to make the most of the summer heat next week when Coquitlam formally unveils the newly renovated Mundy Park Pool.

Although the outdoor pool quietly reopened on June 1 after an extensive upgrade and expansion, the city has scheduled a public celebration for Friday, July 11, from 2 p.m. to 4 pm. A free public swim will start an hour earlier, at 1 p.m., with admission on a first-come, first-served basis.

The drop-in event, at 655 Hillcrest Street will feature music, games and light refreshments alongside open swim time. City staff say the makeover has added new accessible change rooms and deck space, modern pool mechanical systems and other improvements designed to accommodate more swimmers and programs.

Coquitlam is encouraging residents to secure spots for regular public swims and lessons in advance. Registration opens 48 hours before each session through the city’s online booking system under “MPP Public Swim” or by phone at 604-927-4386. Lesson schedules can be found in the same portal by selecting the “Swimming” category and filtering for “Mundy Park Pool”.

Residents can find more information at coquitlam.ca/MundyParkPool.
