The City of Port Moody and the Rotary Club of Port Moody have announced a contribution agreement for the Inlet Park Community Fieldhouse. The pre-construction work is expected to begin in late January 2026.
According to the press release, the Rotary Club will donate $750,000 toward the three-storey fieldhouse. Mayor Meghan Lahti said the contribution reflects the Rotary’s mission to support community projects. “We’re grateful for their support of this new building. It will be a welcoming space for residents and visitors for many years,” she said.
The agreement includes a dedicated space for the Rotary Club. The club will also get regular time for meetings and events. Ian McPhail, spokesperson for the Rotary Club, said in the press release that the project is a legacy initiative that will benefit the community for generations.
The terms of the agreement were finalized in late 2025. With the Rotary’s donation in place, the City will provide the club with a dedicated space inside the fieldhouse and a regular scheduled time for meetings and events, the press release noted. The arrangement ensures the Rotary can continue supporting community initiatives while contributing to the facility’s long-term legacy.
The new fieldhouse will have changerooms, public gender-neutral and universal washrooms, a concession area, and storage on the ground floor. The second floor will feature a multipurpose room, a catering kitchen, washrooms, and an indoor viewing space. The third floor will have offices, meeting rooms, washrooms, and an outdoor covered viewing deck with bleachers. The building is designed to meet high sustainability and accessibility standards.
Construction is expected to take 18 months. The city staff said in a press release that they will keep the park open for users and limit disruptions to parking whenever possible. Earlier phases of the Inlet Park Redevelopment turned the site at 3024 Murray Street from a gravel field into Bob Favelle Field. The upgrades also included baseball and softball diamonds, a batting cage, a children’s play area, landscaping, and EV parking infrastructure.
