Port Moody’s Moody Ales & Co. will close its brewery and tasting room on December 14, marking the end of more than ten years on the city’s iconic Brewers Row.

In a social media post shared Thursday, the award-winning brewery said the decision “was not an easy one” and expressed gratitude to staff, customers, and the local community who supported them since their founding in 2014. “To our incredible staff, our community, and all of you who have shared a pint with us along the way, we are truly grateful for every visit, every conversation, and every moment spent together,” the post read.

Located at 2601 Murray Street, Moody Ales was one of the first breweries to open along the popular waterfront strip that would become known as Brewers Row. Over the years, it earned several honours at the BC Beer Awards, including the Judges’ Choice Award in 2023 for its Oktoberfest brew.

Despite the upcoming closure, fans of the brewery will still be able to find its products. According to the company’s announcement, Moody beers will continue to be available at select liquor stores, pubs, and restaurants that have carried their products over the years. “We hope you continue to enjoy them wherever you find them,” the post added.

Moody Ales & Co. did not share specific reasons for the closure but thanked everyone who has been part of its journey, writing that their story “has meant more to us than we can say.”
