According to the RCMP, at about 3:45 p.m. on October 15, 2025, members of the Lower Mainland District Integrated Emergency Response Team were arresting a man on an outstanding warrant in the mall’s parking lot.

Police say a service dog was used to assist in the arrest. The man sustained a serious but non-life-threatening dog bite injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment before being released into police custody. The IIO was notified shortly after the incident and has since launched an investigation.
