A 52-year-old Pitt Meadows man has died following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 99, and BC Highway Patrol is asking the public for help with dash-camera footage and witness information, according to a press release by Highway Patrol.
The crash happened shortly after noon on October 10, when a white Dodge Ram flat deck truck went off the road while traveling northbound just past the Steveston onramp. The collision caused the highway to close for several hours, resulting in major traffic delays.
According to the BC Highway Patrol, the driver was the only person in the vehicle, and no other vehicles or people are believed to have been involved.
“The evidence collected so far is that the deceased driver was alone in the white Dodge Ram flat deck,” said Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. “Speaking to more witnesses and gathering dash-camera video will be key to figuring out the exact cause of this crash.”
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-camera footage from the area around the time of the collision is asked to contact BC Highway Patrol – Burnaby.
