North Shore bike park to relocate to Maple Ridge

Staff report
April 2, 2025 12:39pm

North Shore Bike Park is preparing to reopen at a new location in Maple Ridge this summer. The bike park closed at Capilano Mall after the management chose a new tenant. An online “Save the North Shore Bike Park” petition had over 6,000 signatures.

The new location for the indoor bike park in Maple Ridge has yet to be announced. However, the new location will have BMX, mountain biking, scootering, skateboarding, and aggressive inline skating. The park plans to feature terrain suitable for riders of all levels, from beginners to experienced athletes. More information is expected in the coming months.

“We’re thrilled to announce the expansion of our vision with a new location in Maple Ridge,” the owner James Wilson said in a social media post. “We’re excited to continue the North Shore Bike Park Family Recreation Centre legacy.”

North Vancouver members with active memberships can freeze and reactivate them once the Maple Ridge facility opens. The new location will also honour ten-visit punch passes with remaining uses.

In April, the park seeks volunteers to help dismantle and move equipment from the North Vancouver site. Volunteers will receive complimentary passes and memberships for the new Maple Ridge park. Those interested can email IWantToVolunteer@NorthShoreBikePark.ca.

“We’re excited to continue the North Shore Bike Park Family Recreation Centre legacy in Maple Ridge. We would like to thank the folks at the City of Maple Ridge for their support in bringing our next location to fruition,” Wilson said.
