North Vancouver’s newest community recreation centre is opening its doors to the community.

Lynn Creek Community Recreation Centre is open with shorter hours and ‘try-it” programming starting February 19. Lynn Creek Community Recreation Centre is located at 1491 Hunter Street in the heart of the new Lynn Creek Town Centre.  Located on the corner of Mountain Highway and Hunter Street, the centre’s front doors face out on Seylynn Park.

It is just steps from the new Spirit Trail crossing over Lynn Creek that connects Lynn Creek Town Centre to Bridgman Park and Park & Tilford.  The District of North Vancouver and NVRC will host a community opening celebration on Saturday, April 5, after which full hours and programming will begin on April 7.

“Many NVRC staff have devoted countless hours to help us get to this point,” says Heather Turner, Director, Recreation & Culture. “I am grateful to all our staff members who played a role in bringing Lynn Creek to life. We can’t wait to welcome the community to this beautiful new centre.”

There will be indoor and outdoor programs and activities for all abilities, interests and ages. Residents can participate in various recreation, fitness, sports and arts programs, camps, and birthday parties. The centre features: Full-sized gymnasium, three multi-purpose spaces, two ‘living rooms’, a maker space, community spaces, meeting rooms, public art and public wi-fi.

North Vancouver District Public Library also operates an automated library kiosk. Parkgate Society will operate a daycare for infants, toddlers and 3–5-year-olds under a lease agreement with the District of North Vancouver.
