In a press release, Port Moody Police said officers arrived two minutes after being dispatched and arrested the suspect nearby without further incident. The suspect – a 48-year-old man – remains in police custody at this time, awaiting charge assessment from the B.C. Prosecution Service.

“This incident occurred in a very busy part of our community, and as a result, we have spoken with a number of witnesses already” states Constable Sam Zacharias, adding that “thankfully, no one sustained any serious injuries.” Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Port Moody Police Department and quote file 2025-2186.
