Missing Port Coquitlam senior found dead

An 82-year-old Port Coquitlam resident who was the subject of a recent missing-person search has been found dead, Coquitlam RCMP confirmed Sunday in a press release.

The senior, identified as George Schick, was reported missing on October 30 after he was last seen near his home around Kelly Avenue and Mary Hill Road at about 4 p.m. on October 29. Police had issued a public appeal for assistance, noting that Schick may have appeared disoriented and urging residents to contact authorities with any information.

“Police and family are very concerned for George Schick’s well-being,” the RCMP said during the search. Despite extensive efforts, RCMP announced that Schick was found deceased. No foul play is suspected at this time. Authorities did not release further details regarding the circumstances of his death.

“The RCMP offers its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” the release said.
