A 24-year-old man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the 2022 killing of Coquitlam resident Terry Miller, according to a media release from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
IHIT stated that Jeffrey Stevens entered the plea on December 10, 2025, for his involvement in the death of 66-year-old Terry Miller. Stevens was originally charged with second-degree murder following his arrest in January 2023. A sentencing hearing is set for March 12, 2026.

According to IHIT, Coquitlam RCMP first responded to a report of a stabbing on February 10, 2022, in the area of 228 Schoolhouse Street in Coquitlam. Officers found Miller suffering from life-threatening stab wounds, and he was taken to hospital. He succumbed to his injuries 12 days later, on February 22.
The investigation was led by IHIT in collaboration with the Coquitlam RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Service, and the BC Coroners Service.
“The entering of a guilty plea is a significant step in the court process,” said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “As we await sentencing, our thoughts are with Mr. Miller’s family and those who were impacted by this tragic incident.”
