The Port Moody Police are updating the public on a fire that has seriously damaged multiple businesses in Port Moody. The police and fire department responded to a structure fire at a strip mall on St. Johns Street on September 3 after 1:30 am.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, and no injuries were reported.
The fire has now been deemed an arson, and the Port Moody Police Major Crime Section has taken over the investigation. However, the intended target of the arson is not cooperating with investigators at this time.
“Any potential witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage in the Saint Johns corridor between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. is asked to contact us,” states Constable Sam Zacharias.
