September 11, 2025 12:47pm

A man in his 50s is facing charges and a driving ban after crashing his SUV into a transit bus in Port Moody on Wednesday evening.

The collision occurred around 7:20 p.m. on September 10 in the 3200 block of St Johns Street. According to Port Moody Police, the SUV struck an occupied transit bus that was stopped at a designated bus stop. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Police say the SUV driver failed a roadside alcohol screening test. He now faces charges under the Motor Vehicle Act, has been issued a 90-day driving prohibition, and his vehicle has been impounded.

The incident disrupted traffic in the area as emergency crews worked to clear both vehicles. Bus passengers were transferred to another bus to continue their route.
