Dangerous driving in Port Moody prompts multiple calls to police

Port Moody Police say they received several reports of dangerous driving on city roads, including multiple calls about an SUV driving on a broken axle on St John’s street. The driver was intercepted and determined to be impaired by alcohol, the city’s police department said in a social media post on X.

The driver was issued a 90-day prohibition & impoundment, according to the police. No injuries were reported.

Driver Caught Speeding More Than Double the Limit

In a separate incident later in the evening, officers stopped a driver in the Heritage Woods area for excessive speeding. Police say the driver was clocked at 122 kilometres per hour in a 50 km/h zone.

The driver, “N,” faces multiple Motor Vehicle Act charges, impoundment & licence review.

Officers continue to monitor high-risk areas and urge drivers to slow down, obey speed limits, and report unsafe behaviour to police.
