Coquitlam RCMP is seeking witnesses and video footage following a serious collision on Lougheed Highway.

On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, just after 2 p.m., Coquitlam RCMP frontline officers responded to a multi-vehicle collision involving pedestrians at the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Westwood Street in Port Coquitlam.

Initial investigation indicates that a vehicle slowing for a red light westbound on Lougheed Highway was rear-ended by another vehicle. Both vehicles then continued through the intersection, striking a third vehicle and several pedestrians. All drivers and pedestrians remained at the scene and have been cooperative with investigators.

One driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. Alcohol and drug impairment are not suspected. “Our investigators are working to piece together what happened in the moments leading up to the collision,” said Acting Sergeant George Han, Media Relations Officer. “If you were in the area around Tuesday, December 2, 2025, around 2 p.m., please contact us.”

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from Westwood Street and Lougheed Highway around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, to contact Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2025-31094.
