On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Coquitlam RCMP responded to a structure fire in the 1100 block of Hachey Avenue. Coquitlam Fire and Rescue attended the scene, extinguished the fire, and all occupants were safely evacuated without injury.

Coquitlam RCMP are also investigating other fires that occurred in the Maillardville neighbourhood between September 27, 2025, and September 29, 2025, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., near Hammond Avenue and Therrien Street, Laval Square and Cartier Avenue and Nelson Street and Walls Avenue. No injuries were reported in these incidents.

The cause of the fires and any potential connections are currently under investigation by Coquitlam RCMP’s General Investigation Section. “We are asking anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or have information to contact Coquitlam RCMP,” said Media Relations Officer, Acting Sergeant George Han.
