Burnaby RCMP seeks witnesses after fatal Kingsway collision

Staff Report
December 3, 2025 10:13am

Burnaby RCMP is asking witnesses and drivers with dashcam footage to come forward after a pedestrian was killed in a collision on Kingsway Monday evening. According to a statement from the detachment, the incident occurred just after 7 p.m. on December 1 near the intersection of Kingsway and Edmonds Street.

Police say the vehicle involved was travelling east on Kingsway when it struck the pedestrian. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. In a press release, Burnaby RCMP said its Criminal Collision Investigation Team has taken over the case.

Investigators are now working to determine what happened in the moments leading up to the collision. Cpl. Mike Kalanj said officers are looking to speak with anyone who was in the area between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday. Police believe additional witness accounts or dashcam footage may help clarify the sequence of events.

Burnaby RCMP is urging anyone who saw the collision or who may have captured relevant video near Kingsway and Edmonds Street to call 604-646-9999. Witnesses are asked to reference file number 2025-41886.
