Burnaby RCMP seeks dashcam video after collision leaves two in hospital

Staff report
March 3, 2025 6:12am

Burnaby RCMP’s Traffic Services is investigating a collision that has left two pedestrians in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 5:20 p.m., Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a collision involving a pickup truck and two pedestrians at North Road and Lougheed Hwy. The two adult female victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver remained on scene. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The pickup truck driver was travelling westbound on Lougheed Hwy, just west of North Road, when the collision occurred, said Cpl Mike Kalanj with the Burnaby RCMP. He could have originated from northbound or southbound North Road or further east from Lougheed Hwy. Our investigators would like to speak to you if you have dashcam footage in any of these directions.

Police are asking anyone that witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage in the area of North Road and Lougheed Hwy between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (including after the collision occurred) on Tuesday, February 25, to not hesitate to get in touch with the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 and quote file number 2025-6558
