Burnaby RCMP investigate shooting that left one injured

Burnaby RCMP is investigating a shooting that occurred in a wooded area near Highway 1 and Willingdon Avenue on the night of Saturday, March 15, 2025, leaving one man injured.

Frontline officers responded to the scene at approximately 10:15 p.m. and located a 71-year-old male victim, who appears to have been living in the area. He was transported to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition despite serious injuries.

Investigators are working to determine the motive for the shooting, which is currently believed to be an isolated incident.

Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Support Team (IST) is leading the investigation.
