The Village of Belcarra has announced the appointment of Melony Burton as a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Melony will take up her duties in Belcarra on April 24, 2025. She replaces Paula Richardson, who is retiring.
In a press release, the Village said Melony has over 20 years of local government experience in positions of progressive management responsibility. With a background in engineering, furthered by education in science and business, Melony has extensive experience with strategic planning and project management.
Most recently, she was Manager, Infrastructure Planning with the City of Port Coquitlam, where she has worked for the past eight years. In this role, she led the development and implementation of many strategic, operational and project plans for citywide initiatives.
“In addition to her strong technical skills, she brings an exceptional ability to coordinate people and resources, and the competencies to lead and work in a diverse team environment,” the Village said.
Mayor Jamie Ross said he is pleased to welcome Melony to Belcarra, and looks forward to her joining the organization and benefiting from her experience.
Mayor Ross also expressed his deepest appreciation to Paula Richardson for the kindness, commitment, skill, time and effort she brought to the role of CAO and the many years that she dedicated to the Village as a member of the Village Office staff.
