Coquitlam’s annual Lights at Lafarge display will return to Town Centre Park on Friday, Nov. 28, bringing thousands of illuminated features, live entertainment and seasonal activities to the community.

Billed as Metro Vancouver’s largest free outdoor winter lights display, the event opens from 5 to 8 p.m. with performances by The Dimes, Coastal Sound Children’s Choir, Dani Black and a fire and light show by NZR Productions. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 7:20 p.m., according to the City of Coquitlam.

Food vendors will operate from 5 to 9 p.m. on both sides of Lafarge Lake, including local and plant-based options. Trucks include Odd Burger, Dos Amigos, C Market Coffee and Medicine Wheels Food Truck.

Visitors can also take part in activities hosted by Evergreen Cultural Centre, Place des Arts, Coquitlam Public Library and the City’s Park Spark team. The 1.2-kilometre light loop is flat and mostly paved, with one section of packed gravel, and is accessible to strollers and mobility devices.

The display will run daily from 4 to 11 p.m. through February 2026. To avoid crowds, the City recommends attending on weekdays or outside peak hours before 6 p.m. or after 8 p.m.

Transit is encouraged due to parking limitations. Lafarge Lake–Douglas SkyTrain Station is located beside the park, and there is no event parking at Town Centre Park Community Centre, Evergreen Cultural Centre or City Centre Aquatic Complex.

“Lights at Lafarge continues to be a key seasonal tradition for the community,” the City said in a statement, noting the display includes re-imagined elements and new light features this year.
