The Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Arts Council has rebranded as Arts On, launching a new name, logo, and website on Nov. 3. The organization says the change reflects its evolution after more than 50 years serving the region.

According to the Arts Council, the rebrand was driven by a shift toward digital communication and the need for a modern, user-focused identity. “The previous branding was created for an analog world and no longer met the needs of today’s digital era,” the organization said in its announcement.

The rebranding followed a year of community consultation, including surveys with patrons, donors, and stakeholders. Participants expressed the need for a stronger visual identity and a more dynamic website. The new site, arts-on.org, will act as a central hub for community arts programming and opportunities to get involved.

Current subscribers and program participants will transition automatically to Arts On’s updated communication platforms. The timing aligns with a major operational change.

The ACT Arts Centre will move to City of Maple Ridge management on Jan. 1, 2026, following the end of a 22-year operating agreement. Arts On will continue operating independently, focusing on community-based arts programming and education.

The new identity, developed with Canadian creative agency Takt, is intended to reflect the Arts Council’s community-focused mission. “The new identity is active, inclusive, and accessible,” the organization stated, adding that its values remain centered on bringing arts “to the heart of the community.”

Founded in 1971, the Arts Council is one of B.C.’s longest-serving arts organizations and played a key role in establishing The ACT Arts Centre, which opened in 2003.
